Mugison, Ellen Kristjánsdóttir, KK, Ragnheiður Gröndal, Pétur Ben og Hipsumhaps koma fram á tónleikum Barnaheilla til að safna fyrir nýjum barnaskóla í afskekkta þorpinu Macca í Síerra Leóne.
Barnaheill – Save the Children á Íslandi eru langt komin með að byggja nýjan grunnskóla í Síerra Leóne. Ákveðið var að ráðast í byggingu skólans eftir heimsókn Barnaheilla til Macca, en þar vinnum við að umfangsmiklu verkefni sem miðar að því að vernda börn gegn ofbeldi. Mikil áhersla er lögð á að bæta menntun og námsaðstæður barna en í Síerra Leóne er aðgangur að öruggu og hentugu námsumhverfi afar takmarkaður.
Einnig verða keyptar töflur og húsgögn í kennslustofur og settir upp rampar og handrið til að tryggja aðgengi allra barna. Þar verður góð salernisaðstaða og unnið að vatns- og fráveitukerfum. Auk þess verður borað fyrir vatni og settur upp brunnur sem einnig nýtist íbúum í þorpunum í nágrenni við Macca.
