Bliss Quintet - Iceland Tour 2026 With a playful interplay and energetic presence, Bliss Quintet has quickly established itself as one of the rising bands on the Norwegian jazz scene. Dramatic and sentimental ballads, catchy fanfare-like horn riffs, complex rhythms, and open harmonic landscapes are central elements of the Bliss Quintet sound. All of this is brought to life through a strong focus on playful interaction, wild and energetic in-the-moment expression, and elements of free improvisation, in the tradition of renowned Nordic bands such as Atomic and Masqualero. On March 6, Bliss Quintet released their fourth album, In Motion, on Jazzland Recordings. Here, the band showcases a tight interplay and nuanced sound, with new sonic elements such as synthesizers and flutes emerging in the music. They maintain their characteristic driving expression and raw energy, while also daring to take the listener into passages of collective exploration. Stillness, repetition, and strong motifs are given more space than on their previous releases. It is the sound of a close-knit band that defines Bliss Quintet.
