Every year we have a special day to celebrate some literature, for example Harry Potter and the Moomins in recent years. On July 15, 2026, we will celebrate Pippi Longstocking on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the story last year.
Pippi hardly needs to be introduced, but she is a beloved character from Astrid Lindgren's books. Pippi is known for her red hair and braids, mismatched socks, great strength, independence and a thirst for adventure. She lives alone in her house Villa Villekulla with her monkey Mr. Nilson and her horse, who is often called Lilla gubben (little old man).
Between 10:00 and 17:00 you can go on a treasure hunt around the museum, solve various puzzles, draw pictures and play in Villekulla.
13:00 there will be a story time with Pippi
14:00-16:00 there will be a horse harness in front of the library
11:00-16:00 you can make a decorative sock and put it on the string for Pippi!
